White Cube in London is expanding its empire—to Glyndebourne country house in East Sussex. The high-profile London-based gallery is showing works from its stable of artists at the famous opera festival held in the grounds of Glyndebourne. "'White Cube at Glyndebourne’ is a partnership which will provide the opportunity to present the work of internationally acclaimed visual artists to new audiences as part of Glyndebourne’s world renowned opera programme," the gallery says in a statement. The launch exhibition is dedicated to the German painter Georg Baselitz (21 May-30 August). "He has created a series of new, monochromatic paintings based on earlier works, which all repeat the same motif of four truncated legs, in black high heels, moving in a circular motion around the canvas," adds the gallery. The show will be held in a newly designed exhibition space created by the architectural studio Carmody Groarke.
