The bones of those who have lived, died and been buried in the UK over the centuries feature in the fascinating exhibition Skeletons: Our Buried Bones which opens tomorrow at the Hunterian in Glasgow (19 August-8 January 2017). The show—which is co-organised by the Wellcome Collection and the Museum of London—throws new light on the bodies that lie beneath, through scientific analyses (syphilis and rickets are some of the health hazards highlighted) and photographs revealing the whereabouts of the various corpses featured. Most of the exhibits are drawn from the collection of the Museum of London, which houses more than 20,000 skeletons. The show tours to M Shed in Bristol (April-August 2017) and Leeds City Museum (September 2017-January 2018). Skeletons from each area are also included in the ghoulish and riveting round-up.
